Spartak Floorball Milano, still without a win, faces FC Dragons, the newly formed Lombard dream team and the clear favorite to win the Italian Floorball Championship Serie A1.

On the Carnago (VA) court, the Dragons confirmed their place as the leading lights of Italian floorball by defeating a steadily improving Spartak Milano. After a difficult first half, the blue-and-whites rallied with determination and produced a thrilling finale thanks to goals from two "Azzurri" stars, Elia Marinello and Davide "Brembol" Brambilla.

The third day of the 2025/26 Serie A1 championship unfortunately confirmed the predictions: FC Dragons, the club born from the "merger" of the reigning champions Milano Molotov with the Varese Wildboars, an equally historic team with a great track record, won with a clear 7-3 against a Spartak Milano who, despite the defeat, showed several encouraging signs especially in the second half of the match.

FC Dragons vs Spartak Milano 7-3

As is often the case, Spartak struggled to find their rhythm in the opening minutes. The Milanese team, in fact, had a tough start, both in the Coppa Italia match against Sterzing and in the first matchday of the Italian Championship against Viking Roma. The Dragons, led by their Varese front line—composed entirely of Wildboars players—immediately imposed their game, built on technique, pace, and high pressing. After ten minutes of essentially equal play, a foul by Brembol led to Milan's first box play: the Dragons, home in Carnago, took advantage of their opponents' numerical inferiority and opened the scoring immediately. The match then opened up, and from then on it was a Dragons monologue: four goals in the first half, including one with Spartak on the power play (manpower). It was a dark night for Milan, and the benches were filled with fears of suffering an unseemly rout.

The reaction in the second period

Fortunately, in the second half, Coach Giuzzi's decision to step away from the player-coach role and focus exclusively on coaching, overseeing the team from the sidelines, began to bear fruit. Thanks to his valuable tactical adjustments, Spartak changed their attitude and managed to get back into the game. The team saw the light at the end of the tunnel and played with more confidence and order, finally finding the net through Marinello, who capitalized on a power play assisted by Brembol. The Dragons responded on the counterattack, but the 1-1 scoreline showed a marked improvement in the visitors' play and defensive unity, thanks in part to the experience of "new signing" Edoardo Moro, who immediately took center stage with clean tackles and veteran defensive readings.

Spartak pride in the final

The third period began with Spartak Milan determined to get back into the game. Brembol made it 5-2, firing a precise shot into the corner from a Davide Fornari assist. Marinello scored shortly after, assisted by an excellent Koschitz, who made a fine run down the left flank of the Milanese attack. After bringing the score back to 6-3, the Milanese team attempted a final assault, even taking off their goalkeeper in the final five minutes and applying heavy pressure in the opposition half. It was at this stage that Davide Fornari literally sacrificed himself to defend his own goal, saving two goals with spectacular saves.

An unfortunate episode ended the match: on a free kick taken too timidly by the white-and-blues, the Dragons capitalized on the opposition's confusion and scored their seventh goal, once again through the Varese line.

Despite the defeat, Spartak Milano can look forward with a modicum of optimism. The addition of two other players from the Serenissima has brought freshness and solidity: Moro led the defense with confidence, while young Alberto Osto, who came on in the second half, impressed with his dynamism and resourcefulness. With two goals, plenty of running, and a strong offensive presence, Marinello was awarded the MVP of the match, symbolizing a team that, while still under construction, showed character, team spirit, and a desire to grow.

Finally, it's worth noting the debut of Spartak Milano's new white kit in the Italian championship. Abandoning the tricolor, a prominent feature on the old shirts of epic battles, the new kit is even more Milanese: in addition to the silhouette of the Duomo, an essential icon, the unmistakable skyline of the City and its great symbols, especially the Arco della Pace and Torre Velasca, stand out on the players' backs. The sponsor, TiNorent, remains unchanged, and the club thanks them for their trust and continued support of the sporting project..
